YOUNG Charlena Young, entered into eternal rest at St. Vincent's Medical Center, Bridgeport, on Wednesday, October 12, 2005. A resident of Bridgeport for more than 50 years, Charlene was a longtime employee of RBC Heim Bearings of Fairfield. Retiring as an accounting clerk in 2003, Charlena continued to work as treasurer of the company's credit union. A native of Mullins, S.C., Charlena became a member of Mt. Aery Baptist Church of Bridgeport in 1957. Here is where Charlene served as a faithful disciple until her passing. Her unwavering faith in Christ and her commitment to obey His will enabled Charlena to bless so many people during her years at Mt. Aery. Throughout the years, Charlene served as a vital part of numerous ministries such as the Floral Ministry, Aids Ministry, Fellowship Ministry and Community Time. Daughter of the late Charlie and Minnie Gause, also of Mullins, S.C., Charlene leaves to mourn her children, son, Charles E. Young Sr. (Yvette) of Lanham, Md., daughter, Karen M. Young, "Special" son, Quinton Jones, both of Bridgeport; grandchildren, Ka'Wana M. Morrow of Bridgeport, and Charles Earl Young Jr. of Maryland; a brother, Joseph Gause ( Shirley); and an aunt, Bernice Gerald, all of Bridgeport. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Services will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2005 at Mt. Aery Baptist Church, Bridgeport. Friends may call beginning at 6 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 8 p.m. Interment will be held on Monday, October 17 at 10 a.m. in Park Cemetery, Bridgeport. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Baker-Isaac Funeral Services, 985 Stratford Avenue, Bridgeport. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Aery Baptist Church's Community Time and/or AIDS Ministry or the St. Vincent's Medical Center, Swim Across the Sound Fight Cancer Campaign.
