Rachel Althea Cox Cannon-Moree, 77, widow of Robert James "Bob" Moree, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at the University of Alabama Medical Hospital in Birmingham.

Mrs. Moree was born February 17, 1936, in Kingstree, S.C, a daughter of the Rev. Wilburn Samuel Cox and Mrs. Effie Mae Stone Cox.

She was a co-founder and operator of Moree's Barbeque and was a member of the Woodmen of the World.

Bob and Althea were married on October 16, 1962 and celebrated 35 years together.

She was survived by two children, Rodney Dale Cannon and Camellia Ann Moree; three grandchildren, Regina, Paul, and Blaine; and four great-grandchildren, Bristol, Kale, Autumn, and Piper; three brothers, Esters (Lib) Cox, Samuel (Myrna) Cox, and Rev. Jerry (Betty) Cox; and five sisters, Barbra Calcutt, Catherine Venters, Rebecca (Sambo) Browder-Evans, Lillian (Hank) McLaughin, and Darnell (Rogers) Owens.

She was predeceased by her parents; and her husbands, Wendell "W.J" Cannon and Bob Moree.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, in Andrews First Pentecostal Holiness Church, of which Mrs. Moree was a member. Burial, directed by the Andrews Chapel of McKenzie Funeral Home, followed in Andrews Memorial Cemetery.
