In 1911 Mr. Foslien and wife retired from farming and moved to Alexandria where Mrs. Foslien died in 1917. Since then Mr. Foslien has made his home with his son Frank. The winter months he spent mostly in Minneapolis, where his daughter Emily, and his son Levi, live.
Paul Foslien was a man of integrity and honor. From time to time he served the town and community in various capacities. At all times he enjoyed the full confidence of his fellow citizens. He was a faithful and active member of West Moe Lutheran church for more than fifty years. He took Christianity seriously and recognized his dependency on the means of grace. Hence he was a consistent and conscientious church-goer. Mrs. Foslien was a kindly man, glad to meet his friends and neighbors.
Funeral services were held Friday at the Frank Foslien place (the deceased's old home) at one o'clock and at the West Moe church at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. B. Bestul. Besides the four sons and daughter, Mr. Foslien leaves to mourn his death one brother, Even, and one sister, Guri (Mrs. Fingar Foslien). Three brothers and one sister preceded him in death. Fingar, Haagen, Ole and Mari (Mrs. Ole Syverson). There are 26 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The pallbearers were six of the grandsons: Paul, Edward, Gilfred, Palmer, Phillip and Conrad Foslien.
