Kerrville – Minnie Lee (McGehee) Gumbert, 88, of Ingram, TX, passed from this life on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at a local care center in Kerrville, TX. Minnie was born on July 20, 1925 to William Azriah McGehee and Lena Alvora (West) McGehee in Stamford, TX.

Minnie was privileged to live in many different parts of Texas. Minnie Lee's life really began at the age of 14, with a bucket of water when she met the love of her life, Willie Gumbert. On April 5, 1941, they were married in Burnet, TX. Together they had 11 children between 1942 and 1964. She devoted her life to her husband, children, and God. You could find her every Sunday in a church pew. Serving God and her family was most important to Minnie.

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters; 3 brothers; daughter, Lisa Linn (Gumbert) Hooker; son-in-law, David Hooker; great grandson, Jaler Todd Brown; step-great grandson, Chris Pritchett.

Those left to cherish and honor her memory are her husband, Willie Gumbert; children, Wanda Brown and husband Bud, Esther Moose and husband Gene, Earl Gumbert and wife Nita, Robert Gumbert and wife Deanna, Kay Dragoo and husband Duane, Thelma Kimbrough and husband Robert, Carol McCloud and husband Tony, Michael Gumbert and wife Thelma Jo, Frances Gumbert Hardy and Casey Foster, Ginger Green and husband Mark; also surviving her are 42 grandchildren, 97 great grandchildren, 66 great-great grandchildren, 2 great-great-great grandchildren, along with a host of many loving friends and neighbors.

A time of visitation with the family will be held from 5 – 8 PM, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Kerrville Funeral Home, 1221 Junction Highway, Kerrville, TX 78028. Funeral Services will be held 11 A.M, Thursday, November 7, 2013 in the Main Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery, Kerrville, TX.

In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be forwarded to the charity of one's choice.
