Frank B. Altice, 82, of 1105 Michigan Avenue, died Saturday in Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Oct. 9, 1902, he was a son of the late Charles B. Altice and Ella (Hood) Altice. Mr. Altice was previously employed by Vang Construction Company and the E.I. DuPont Company of Wilmington, Del., and was a charter member of the Delaware Safety Engineers Club. He returned to the Cumberland area following World War II and was self-employed until his retirement in 1967. A charter member of the Queen City Bird Dog Club, he was a member of Council 586, Knights of Columbus, Chief Justice Taney, Fourth Degree, a charter member of Wamba Caravan 89, Order of the Alhambra, and a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church. His first wife, Helen (Stull) Altice, preceded him in death in 1968. Surviving are his widow, Dorothy (Ley) Altice; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Helen Bower; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Barbara Ann Marriott of Gaithersburg and Mrs. Nancy J. Welsh, Cumberland, two granddaughters, two step-granddaughters and two step-grandsons. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 8 p.m. Sunday in conjunction with Chief Justice Taney, Fourth Degree, Wamba Caravan, Order of Alhambra, and Council 586, Knights of Columbus. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at SS. Peter and Paul Church Monday at 11 a.m. Pallbearers will be Albert E. Brant, Joseph C. Felten, Thomas J. Connelley, Miller Lese, Michael P. Stakem, all past grand commanders of Wamba Caravan 89, Order of the Alhambra, and William J. Blake, present grand commander. Chief Justice Taney, Fourth Degree, will act as honor guard at the funeral. The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the favorite charity of the donor.
