Orangeville- Melva Nielsen Olsen, 87 died April 22, 1996 in Price of causes incident to age.

She was born August 28, 1908 in Emery, daughter of John Peter and Annie Christensen Nielsen. Her parents, four brothers and two sisters all preceded her in death. She was a life-long member of the LDS Church.

She married Neldon C. Olsen February 18, 1925 in Emery. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died in February 1965.

She is survived by a son, Royce J. (Lorene) Olsen, Orangeville; a daughter, Barbara (J. James) Peacock of South Jordan; and a son-in-law, Rue P. Ware of Orangeville. A daughter, Nellie Ann Olsen Ware, died in 1979. She leaves a posterity of 13 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Melva and Neldon lived all of their married lives at Moore (Rochester), Utah where he was a successful farmer and dairyman. Melva was postmistress for 22 years, faithfully providing mail service for the small farming community of Moore. After Neldon died in 1965, Melva moved to Orangeville where her three married children and their families lived.

Melva dearly loved her family and a special group of lady friends who visited and shopped together. She loved her home teachers and her neighbors. Melva enjoyed living in their small comfortable home in Orangeville up to the final week of her life.

Funeral services will be Thursday, April 25 at 12 noon, in the Orangeville First Ward Chapel, where friends may call at the church Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. Burial in the Ferron Cemetery under the direction of Fausett Mortuary of Price.
