AN OLD SOLDIER AT REST
Tuesday night, after an illness of some weeks, William Dinnel of south Palisade, passed to rest at the advanced age of 84 years. He had lived in this vicinity a long time and had many friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the Church of Christ and were conducted by Rev. L. S. Terry of Wauneta, and the remains laid to rest in the Palisade Cemetery.

OBITUARY
William Dinnel was born in White county Illinois, September 9, 1837, and departed this life December 5, 1922.
He was married to Miss Susan Stretch, February 28, 1858 in Bancroft, Daviess County, Missouri. To this union were born eight children, one daughter died in infancy and the other survive their father.

While living in Missouri, the call came for soldiers for the civil war, and he enlisted in 1861 and served until the close of the war. He enlisted in company D 51st Missouri Infantry.

He leaves to mourn his loss a loving wife, two sons, Charles William Dinnel, George Dinnel, five daughters, Jane V. Lumpkin, Susan A. Herbert of McCook, Phebe C. Troxel and Alice M. Fletcher of Hayes county. Thirty-eight grand children and 40 great grandchildren. One sister, 99 years of age and one brother, besides other relatives and friends. He lived to a ripe old age and was with his loved ones for more than the usual number of years allotted to man. The sympanthy of the community goes out to the bereaved ones.
