daughter and only child of Fred J Heyen
and Ida Schweitzer Heyen Erb;
step-daughter of Mose K Erb

Elsie Pearl Heyen passed away at the home of her parents, Mr and Mrs Mose Erb of Shickley, Saturday, March 9, 1935, at 8 o'clock in the morning at the age of 19 years, 10 months and 23 days. Never a very strong girl she had been an invalid for the past four years. She was a patient sufferer to the end and while God in His infinite wisdom has called her to a place where there is no pain, her place in the home is vacant, and she will be greatly missed. Services were held at Salem Mennonite Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Relatives attending from out-of-town were: Mr and Mrs Henry Heyen and family, Mr and Mrs John Heyen, Mr and Mrs Claus Heyen and family and Mr and Mrs Menno Yantzie, all of Milford. Grandpa and Granma Schweitzer and Pet; Alvin and Viora; Mr and Mrs Menno Schweitzer and family and Mr and Mrs Dave Schweitzer, all of Beaver Crossing; Mr and Mrs Chris Erb and family; Mr and Mrs Jake Griesto and J W Oswald of Beemer; Dave Erb and daughter Alice; and Mr and Mrs Johnny Beller and daughter of O'Neill, Mrs Willard Stutzman, Mrs Verne Stutzman, Viola Schweitzer and Mr and Mrs Chris Speangler of Wood River; Mr and Mrs Ervin Berky of Seward and Miny Uphoff of Belvidere. An aunt, Mrs I T Conrad of Hastings, was unable to attend, but her daughters were present. Mr and Mrs Erb feel deeply grateful for the kindness of friends and neighbors shown them at this time, and the large number of relatives attending attest to the loyalty and sympathy felt for the bereaved family.
