Melva O. Wilcox, 82, of Casey, Illinois passed away at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Heartland Manor, Casey, Illinois after a brief stay. She was born on October 13, 1925 in Casey, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas Jefferson Brandenburg and Kathryn Vallie Bland Brandenburg. On September 20, 1947 she married Robert Travis Wilcox in Newton, Illinois.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Wilcox of Casey, IL; daughter, Amy Mullen and husband Gilbert of Casey, IL; grandson, Eric Mullen and wife Valerie of Casey, IL; granddaughter Laurie Yammine and husband Michael of Findlay, OH; great grandchildren, Travis Yammine, Brandon Yammine, Jason Yammine and Lanie Mullen; step great grandchild, Noah Schwerman; niece, Jennifer Blackwood and husband William of Herndon, VA and great niece, Regan Blackwood and husband Shawn Mole of Virginia. Her parents and sister, Mary Simpson preceded her in death.
Melva was a homemaker and in the early years she was employed as a Payroll Clerk for Marathon Pipeline in Martinsville, IL. She was a member of the Casey United Methodist Church and a 1943 Graduate of Casey High School.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Markwell Funeral Home, Casey, IL with the Rev. Dr. Penelope Barber officiating. Burial will be in the Washington Street Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
