Hood County lost one of her pioneer citizens Monday night when J. G. Carmichael, 74, died at his home in Godley. "Uncle Jim" as he was known to many of his friends, was born at the old family home in Carmichael Bend and spent the greater part of his life there in Fall Creek. He had been living in Godley for about a year.
He is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Rylee Massey and Mrs. John Johnson of Fall Creek; a son, Wylee Carmichael of Granbury, Dr. A. Carmichael of Granbury, a brother, also survives, and is the last of a family of eight.
Burial was in the Fall Creek Cemetery today at 3 o'clock with the Masons conducting the services.
