Brenda Brock, 54, of the 1600 block of Stone Throw Court, died Aug. 10, 2005, in Chesapeake General Hospital. Born in Virginia Beach, she was a receptionist for Sentara Health Care. She was a member Calvary Revival Church, Norfolk, and graduated from Kellam High School, Virginia Beach. Survivors include two sons, John Skinner IV of Ewing, N.J., Jason Skinner of Newport News; two sisters, Sandra Harmon (Carolus) of Virginia Beach, Linda Cooper of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Ernest Brock (Annie Bell) of Virginia Beach; three grandchildren, Aija Skinner, Endya Skinner and Tyre Skinner; several nieces and nephews; and LaJuan Beard and Sherita Edwards, close friends to the family. She was predeceased by her parents, Virginia Brock and Walter L. Brock; and a sister, Thelma Brock. A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday in New Hope Baptist Church, 395 Old Great Neck Road, Virginia Beach, by Dr. E. Ray Cox. Burial will be in Asbury United Methodist Church. The family will receive relatives and friends for visitation Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Beach Funeral Services Inc., 4456 Bonney Road, Virginia Beach. Kevin A. Sanderlin, funeral director.
