Kathryn Hazel Craig, 95, of Milford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Delaware Hospice Center.

Kay was born in Lewes, DE to the late Lewis Rodney B. and Sarah J. (Ash) Hazel. She graduated from Beebe Nursing School as a Registered Nurse in 1942. In 1944 she began employment at Beebe Hospital as an Operating Room Supervisor. Kay began her employment at Milford Memorial Hospital Labor & Delivery in 1951 and retired in 1986 after delivering many babies.

Kay was a member of Calvary UM Church. She served as a Girl Scout leader, enjoyed square dancing & bowling. She loved all types of needlework. She travelled to Alaska, Russia, Bora Bora, Tahiti, Israel, Turkey, and many other places with family & friends. She was a huge Philadelphia Phillies fan.

More than anything Kay enjoyed her grandchildren & great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, William Craig Sr.; her daughter Betty Jo Wilson; a grandson; a great-granddaughter and two sons-in-laws, Tom Ogle & Joe Gaffney. She is survived by her children Celi Craig, Bill Jr. and Judy Craig, Karen and Dave Bell, Susanne and John Webb; Betty Jo's husband Kenny Wilson; sister Betty Connor of Milton; brother Ronald Hazel of Roxboro, NC; 13 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. The interment will be at Henlopen Memorial Park, Milton, DE. The family would like to extend a special thanks to her caretaker, Julia Lloyd. Published in The News Journal on Apr. 25, 2017
