Lyle Edman, age 91 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. Funeral service will be held at 7p.m. on Tuesday, September 17 at the Kolden Funeral Home in Belle Plaine. Visitation will be from 4-7p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at noon on Wednesday in the Flowerfield Cemetery in Hills, Minnesota.
Lyle was born in Canton, S.D. on August 20, 1922 to Abel and Rosemary (Andrews) Edman. He married EvaD Qualley on June 16, 1951. They were married for 55 Years. They had 2 children, 6 granddaughters and 12 great grandchildren. Lyle worked on the railroad for 36 years. While working for the railroad, he became the number 1 welder in the state of Minnesota. He loved to travel, camp, play cards, put together puzzles, read and spend time with his family.
Lyle is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Morrison of Belle Plaine, son, Leon Edman of St. Peter, granddaughters, Amy Stender, Tammy Gallentine, Molly Brown, Sadie Schmidt, Jenni Edman, Nicole Nugent and 12 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, EvaD Edman and 9 brothers and sisters.
