She was united in marriage to Elijah W. EDINGTON, November 3, 1885, and to their union eight children were born, two of whom preceded her in death. The surviving children in the order of their ages are: Ray, of Grand Island, Nebraska; Van, of Shoals, Oyvind, of Mattoon, Illinois; Mrs. Hobart COMBS, of Warren; Paul, of Rock Island, Illinois, and Don, of Straughn.
In early life she united with the Christian Church at Taylor Ridge under the ministry of Rev. McCormick, of which she continued throughout her active life a consistent and loyal member. Having inherited by birth and acquired by parental teaching, both by precept and example, those high and noble qualities that exalt womanhood and enrich character, it was but natural for her to become the sweet mild wife and mother that she was. It was the privilege of the writer to spend some months in the home of this good woman during her young womanhood, and it is an inspiration now to recall the sweet congenial fellowship of father and mother and sisters and brothers, and of her part in the happy house life. Her influence for good will continued to live and grow and bear fruit through the splendid family she has given to the world, each of whom inherit from her many traits that will be helpful to them in the work they have been called to do.
Beside her immediate family, she leaves one brother, Orlando S. Connell, of Odon, and one sister, Mrs. Algie Baker, of Owensburg. The funeral services were held in the Christian Church September 8, 1924, conducted by Elder T. A. Cox. Interment in Grand View Cemetery, Bloomfield, Indiana.
