Funeral services for Carl A. Russell were held Wednesday, March 7, 1962 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. R. W. Heikkinen of Sebeka officiated. The pallbearers were: Thomas Moriarty, Ray Cook, Richard Bennett, John Marlow, Toivo Hulkonen, and Verner Haabala. Interment was in Moe Heights Cemetery, Moe township.
Carl A. Russell was born May 3, 1893 at Fort Dodge, Iowa, son of William and Theresa Russell. In 1900 the Russell family moved to Stevens county, Minn., where Carl grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Elma Marie Marlowe on January 7, 1919. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Russell farmed in Stevens County, Chokio and Alberta areas, until moving to Moe Township, Douglas County Minn., in 1942.
Mr. Russell passed away at his home Sunday, March 4, 1962 at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 1 day. Surviving are his wife, Elma, and five sons: Maurice D. of Golden Colorado, Dr. Robert C. of Manitowac, Wisc., James H. of Alexandria, Stanley J. of Minneapolis and Daniel, at home. He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
