Delbert J. Allen, 85, of Farina, Illinois entered enteral rest at11:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013, at St. Louis University Hospital, St Louis, Missouri.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Pagel Funeral Home, Edgewood, Illinois. Burial will be in Edgewood Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials can be made to Edgewood American Legion Post 1168.
Delbert was born June 29, 1928, in Clay County to Oliver and Ivy (Murray) Allen. He married Wilma Wicke in 1951. He was a lifetime business owner/operator and a member of the Edgewood American Legion Post 1168 for 20 years.
In his passing, he leaves behind his son, James (wife, Pam) Allen of St. Peter, Illinois; daughter, Susan Allen of Farina, Illinois; three brothers, Emery (wife, Judy) Eckel of Odessa, Texas; Rick (wife, Debbie) Allen of Louisville, Illinois; and Rocky (wife, Anita) Allen of Flora, Illinois; sisters, Wilma (husband, Jim) Burton of Tucson, Arizona; Lou Harned of Flora, Illinois; Carolyn Ray of Flora, Illinois; Alice (husband, William) Toliver of Flora, Illinois; and Elsie Braddock (husband, Will) of Orchardville, Illinois; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Donnie Allen, Gerald Allen and Adrian Allen.
