New Bedford—Anna R. (Potkay) Lajmuc, 92, of New Bedford died Friday, Nov. 23, 2001 at Sacred Heart Nursing Home after a long illness. She was the widow of Chester V. Lajmuc.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of Paul and Anna (Smith) Potkaj, she lived in the New Bedford area all her life.
She was a communicant of Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
She was a stitcher at Cliftex for more tha 20 years ; she retired in 1971.
She was a member of the Amalgamated Ladies Garment Workers Association.
Mrs. Lajmuc was a member of the Moose Senior Citizen Club and South End Golden Agers. She enjoyed painting.
Survivors include a son, Chester V. Lawson of Dedham and Westport; a daughter, Geraldine A. Holden of Westport; a brother Eugene Potkay of Mattapoisett; a sister, Rosalie Brown of Fairhaven; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late William Potkay and Mitchell "Mickey" Potkay.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Donaghy-Hathaway Funeral Home, 465 County St., with a Mass at 11 at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church.
Burial will be in Rural Cemetery.
