Esther Belle Dudley was born April 20, 1899 in South Gifford, Macon County, Missouri. She passed away on February 8, 1988 as a resident of the Pine View Good Samaritan Center in Valentine, Nebraska at the age of 88 years.

Esther was one of four children born to James Allen and Nelia Magus [Magers] Dudley. She attended South Gifford schools, Chillicothe Business College, and Northeast Missouri State University in Kirksville, Missouri. During World War I Esther performed duties in the Ordinance Department of the War Department, Washington, D.C. from July of 1917 to August 1919.

Esther was united in marriage to Sedric Cleo Bloom on September 24, 1919. From this union two sons were born, George Allen and Cleo Junior. The family moved to a ranch south of Valentine, Nebraska in 1925 and resided in the Sandhills to the present. Esther not only undertook the vigorous tasks of a ranch wife, but was also an active member in the Wood Lake Women's Club, PEO, Cowbelles, Garden Club, and Order of the Eastern Star. Esther and Cleo moved to Valentine in 1970. She held her many friendships so dear to her heart and the activities they undertook together were most enjoyable. Esther was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Valentine.

Preceding Esther in death were her parents, her husband Cleo, her sisters Ethel Dudley and Alpha Soupos and one brother James M. Dudley.

Survivors include sons George Allen Bloom, and Cleo Junior Bloom, 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held February 13 at the Presbyterian Church of Valentine. Interment was in Mount Hope Cemetery in Wood Lake with Sandoz' Chapel of the Pines in charge of arrangements.
