1. BOOK: Ancestors of Thomas Jefferson Evans by Hiram K. Evans at Pioneer Historical Society. pps 9, 21-28 states: "Evan Evans (the first) came to this country from Wales prior to 1753. He owned land in Berks County, Pa at that date. He lived and died in Union Township, Berks County in March 1790. He made a will dated Oct. 16, 1784. This will was probated on march 31st, 1790 at Reading, Berks Co. Pa. He lived at what is now Geigertown or Geiger Mills Post Office. He owned 194 and a half acres of land just across the road from the St. Paul's M.E. Church at Geigertown. When you get off the train at the station you see a church about one quarter of a mile from the station with a cemetery around it. This is the St. Paul M.E. Church and Evan Evans farm lies just across the road from this church. Evan Evans was one of the first trustees of this church and the church property and grounds were deeded to him and others as trustees. He was the first trustee named in the deed from the New Sight people who built and originally owned the church. This church was built about 1774 as indicated by a date on the wall of the church. He was no doubt buried in the cemetery at the church also his wife, but I was unable to find his grave when I visited the place. He was a class leader by the early records and Evan Evan's wife name was Jennet, but I do not know her last name. They had six children". (Children's info from this book.)

2. p. 23: Evan Evans was a soldier in the Revolutionary War. He served as Captains clerk in Captain Robinson's Company who marched from the several classes of Militia, August 11, 1780 Pennsylvania State Militia. See Vol. V fifth series of the Archives of Pennsylvania, page 198. I believe Evan Evans also served in the Colonial Wars with the Indians and have some evidence to support my belief.

3. p. 27: Evan's Will was recorded in Reading, Pa on Oct. 16, 1784. Six years later Evan died and Will was probated on March 31, 1790 in Reading Pa. (Vol. 3, P. 119). Evan left the homestead to his son Cadwallader. Cadwallader relinquished his claim to the farm, when he went west to Bedford [County], Pennsylvania with his brother David. When David died his son, David inherited the farm. Wife Jennet got farm as long as she remained a widow. son John got 5 pounds. Daughter Elizabeth got 10 pounds. Dau. Mary got 20 pounds. Son Evan got 5 pounds, so David 25 pounds. Cadwallader gets farm after his wife dies as long as he takes care of his mother, otherwise farm goes to David. If that happens David gets farm and Cadwallader get 25 pounds.

4. BOOK: History of Berks County, Pennsylvania, J.H. Beers 1909, Blair Co. Genealogical Society Library. p. 711. "The Evans family, one of the early established families of Berks County, has contributed its share of prominent citizens in this section in peace and war. Church-loving, law abiding and God-fearing, the family has always been noted for the honesty and integrity of its members, some of whom have filled positions of eminence in their day. Three brothers named Evans emigrated from Wales about the year 1720 and landed at Philadelphia, whence all went prospecting through Pennsylvania, with the result that Daniel settled in Chester County, Phillip in Berks County and the third in Montgomery County."
