Martin Alfred Zachary of Hines Heights died at the Fort Logan Hospital after a long illness. He was 81 years old.

He was a retired painter and attended a Baptist church.

He was survived by his sons, William L. Zachary of Louisville, Kentucky, Everett E. Zachary of Louisville, Kentucky, Shelby L. Zachary of Smithville, Tennessee, and David Franklin Zachary of Houston, Texas; his daughters, Retha Mae Vanmeter of Sparta, Tennessee and Anita Woodall of Centerville, Tennessee; his brothers, Cordell Zachary of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Eldard E. Zachary of Washington; his sisters, Zannie Cooper of California and Lucy Morris of Grand Rapids, Michigan; 34 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pleas Zachary and Etta (Flowers) Zachary; his first wife, Lillie Bell (Bolin) Zachary (married October 7, 1921); his second wife, Myrtle (Bolin) Burton Zachary; and his son, Ray Zachary.

Funeral services were held at the chapel of Somerset Undertaking Company with Reverend Hobert Bolin and Reverend George Montgomery officiating.
