Ruthie Lee was born in Anderson County, Texas, to the late John Nolan and Ruby Jane (Hilton) Berryhill. She grew up in Anderson and Henderson Counties. Ruthie graduated from La Poynor School. She married Jessie "Jake" McCoy and they made their home in Henderson County. Ruthie was a member of the Mid Way Baptist Church of Anderson County. She enjoyed quilting and taking care of family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jessie "Jake" McCoy in 1963; and sons, Garry McCoy and Jerry Wayne McCoy.
She is survived by sons, Jim McCoy and his wife, Melinda, of Sugar Land, Henry McCoy and his wife, Marlene, of Arlington, and David McCoy, of Childress; daughters, Brinda McCoy, of LaRue, and Linda Folmar and her husband, Gordon, of Frankston; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sister, Jean Redding; of Irving; sister-in-law, Janice McCoy; of Oklahoma City, OK; many other relatives and friends.
