Son of David Carter Lawson & Mary Jane Brown. Husband of Ruby Pearl Weaver (ma. 1942).

Mina "Mickey" Lee Lawson, 96, a resident of Greensboro passed away on Thursday January 14, 2016. Mr. Lawson was born in Hawkins County, TN, the son of David Carter and Mary Jane Brown Lawson.

Mickey was a veteran of WW II serving in the U. S. Navy in the Aleutian Islands. He retired from Flav O Rich Dairies where he was a supervisor for wholesale sales. Mickey was a Master Mason and member of Greensboro Lodge 76 A.F. & A.M. He was a longtime member of Westover Church.

Mickey was married to Ruby Weaver Lawson for 67 years until she preceded him in death in 2009. He was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, Rev. Timothy Lee Lawson and his eight siblings, Genieve Eden, Maggie Lawson, Lore Lawson, Carl, Clay, Charlie, Calvin and Lawrence Lawson.

He is survived by one daughter, Janice Lynne Lawson of Greensboro; two sons, Mickey Leon Lawson (Brenda) of Greensboro, Terry Dale Lawson (Sherry) of Greensboro, 10 grandchildren: Erik, Heather, Karen, Aidan, Ben, Ashley, Nathan, Charlotte, Jonathan, Jason; and 25 great grandchildren and daughter-in-law, Sara Lawson of Augusta, GA.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Lawndale Baptist Church, 3505 Lawndale Dr., Greensboro, NC 27408 conducted by Reverend Bob Voorhees and Reverend Arvil Pennington.

Interment with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be in Guilford Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends at Lawndale Baptist Church on Sunday from 1:30 p.m. until service time.
