Sarah Hemstock married (1) Byron Howard Abbott on 9 August 1898. Some time between 1906 and 1910 she married Byron's brother, Mathew William Abbott.

Death Monday Of Mrs. Sadie Abbott

Sadie Hemstock Abbott of Ames, longtime resident of Nevaa, died at 5 p.m. Monday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Dirksen, 616 Burnett, Ames.

Funeral services will beheld Wednesday, Feb. 20 at the Duckworth - Stevens Funeral Home in Ames at 2 p. m. with Rev. Donald Beel of the Ames Nazarene church officiating. Interment will be in the Nevada cemetery.

The body will lie in state tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Duckworth-Stevens Funeral home in Ames.

Mrs. Abbott, who was born in Nevada Nov. 15, 1879, is survived by a daughter Helen, Mrs. Henry Dirksen, 616 Burnett, Ames, son Emmett H. Abbott, 613 Sixth street, Ames; two brothers, John Hemstock of San Diego, Calif. and George Hemstock of Santa Ana, Calif. She also leaves two grandchildren, Ronald and Velvet Abbott of Ames, also severl nieces and nephews. She lived her entire life in Story county.
