Elisha Palmer Leach was born in Ohio. His family moved to Illinois when he was nine. During the Civil War, he served in Company A, 100th Illinois Regiment. On May 8, 1868, Elisha married Mary Francis Norton. In 1874 he moved his family to Republic County, Kansas, where they homesteaded. SOLDIERS' HOME

Elisha P. Leach, late A Company, One Hundreth (sic) Illinois Infantry, died here yesterday morning. He was transferred to Western from Central Brench, November 1, 1919. His niece, Mrs. Emma Peacock, Woodston, Kansas, was notified and ordered the body shipped to that place. Leander Leach, a brother of Elisha, is here in L Company and he may accompany the body to Woodston.
