Phylander (sic) Leach died Jan. 31, 1889 at his home four miles south of this place. Mr. Leach was the oldest person in this part of the country. He was in his 85th year, and had been a member of the M.E. church for over fifty years. The funeral was preached at the residence on Saturday, by Rev. Morrison. The body, attended by a large concourse of friends was taken to the beautiful Rose Mound Cemetery, for interment.
