Solomon S. Barger, 98, a native and life-long resident of Tuscaloosa County, died at his residence at Cottondale Tuesday.
Survivors include three sons, Henry Barger of Brookwood, Houston Barger of Searles and Rev. Lewis D. Barger of Cottondale, three daughters, Mrs. Alvie Hyche of Brookwood and Mrs. Emma Crowder of Empire; 39 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
