Frank Anderson Passes Away at Home

Funeral Rites Will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Lutheran Church

Frank G. Anderson, 79 died at 2:50 p.m. Thursday at his home at the west edge of Prophetstown. He had been in failing health for four years and had been confined to his bed since May, 1939. The body was removed to the Dudley mortuary in Prophetstown.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Prophetstown Lutheran church. The Rev. Milton Lundahl will officiate.
Mr. Anderson was born August 17, 1860 in Smaland, Sweden, son of Anders and Johanna Danielson Jacobson. He came to the United States in 1885 and located near Tampico. He was married to Anna Nelson of Tampico at Princeton on December 31, 1888. They lived five years on a farm south of Tampico and in 1894 moved to the McMillian farm, four miles southeast of Prophetstown where they lived until 1910 when they purchased the Jamison farm, just west of Prophetstown.
They retired from farming in 1917 and built a new home on the east edge of their farm where they had since resided. Since then the farm has been operated by their son Elmer. Mr. and Mrs. Anderson celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in December, 1938. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the First Lutheran church of Prophetstown.
Besides his widow he leaves one son, Elmer J., two daughters Mrs. Emil (Hulda) Faulk and Mrs. Clarence (Minnie) Olinger, all of Prophetstown; one brother, Henry of Prophetstown and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Karl, Axel, Victor, Peter, Alfred and Gust and two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Anderson and Mrs. Emma Gustafson and one daughter who died in infancy.
