Ferdinand was the 4th child (and 3rd boy) born to Martinous Weindorf and Elisabeth Lehn Weindorf. He was their first child born in Erie, with his older sister and brother (Christina & Martin) being born in Black Rock NY, and oldest brother (Johannes) born in Germany.
On May 17th, 1881 he married Maria Magdalena Schaaf and they lived the rest of their lives in Erie, raising 6 children.
Ferdinard was a carpenter by trade, just like his father and brothers.
