Nicholas F. Baker married Margaret Webb, Feb 21 1805 in Washington County, Maryland
Nicholas F. Baker Sr. and his family moved to Sandyville OH in May of 1839 from (Fort) Loudon, Franklin County PA, to accompany his daughter Mary Zipporah Baker McNamee, at the loss of her husband Sandyville Postmaster Amzi Chambers McNamee, and also his widowed sister-in-law "Nancy" Ann Webb Russell.
Nicholas F. Baker bought a large farm of at least 179 acres, just west of Sandyville, on both sides of what is now North Orchard Rd. at Dover-Zoar Rd. He died Jun 8 1839, about one month after his arrival in Sandyville OH.
After the passing of Nicholas F. Baker Sr., his son Robert Baker (with the help of the Baker family) owned and operated the Baker farm, and after his death in 1862, it was owned by his wife Mahala Smith Baker of Bolivar, OH. About eighty acres of what was the Baker farm is now the "Oster Sand and Gravel" pit today.
