Imogene Steele
Imogene Tyler Steele, 92, of Paris died Thursday, April 17, 2014, at Paris Healthcare Center.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McEvoy Funeral Home.
Alan Trull, pastor of Blooming Grove United Methodist Church near McKenzie, will officiate. Burial will be in Palestine Cemetery.
Chosen as pallbearers are Tommy Harding, Ray and Victor Clark, Lou Carter, Johnny Farmer, Ronny and Josh Steele and Marvin Klopfenstein.
Honorary pallbearers will be Hugh, Jeff, Steve and David Tyler, Lexie Donald Tyler and Danny and Gary Clark.
Visitation will be 4-6 p.m. today and two hours before the service Saturday.
Born in Henry County on Sept. 22, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Walter V. and Betty Jane Steverson Tyler.
She was married on Aug. 22, 1942, to George Buford Steele, who died Dec. 20, 1996.
Steele was a member of Palestine United Methodist Church for 63 years.
She leaves four sons: Larry (Darlene) Steele of Henry, Kenneth Steele of Paris, Ronnie (Ginger) Steele of Brewton, Ala., and Mark (Mary) Steele of Cape Coral, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by three sisters: Lucille Sayre, Melva Clark and Lubie Ross; and four brothers: Harlon, Cleatus, Lexie and John William Tyler.
