Leslie Olan Bailey died June 7, 1983 at the Community Hospital, McCook. He was born April 25, 1901, the youngest child of James and Sarah Bailey, Green Top, Mo.

On Oct. 16, 1919 he and Nella Mae Branum were united in marriage in Kirkville, Mo. They resided in Adair County, Mo. where he was employed by the railroad. In 1921 they left their native state and moved to Nebraska where he engaged in farming. A few years later he was employed by Krotter's. During World War II he was employed by Bremerton Naval shipyard, Bremerton Wa., for a period of time. On his return to Nebraska he was employed by Krotter Electric Co. In 1948 he was employed by the REA and remained there until his retirement in 1972. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nella in 1974, and two sons, Arthur in 1979 and Floyd in 1981.

Survivors are three daughter, Mrs. Marjorie Fink of Fort Collins, Co., Mrs. Georgia J. Novacek of Benkelman and Mrs. Virginia L. McCurdy of Tucson, Az., one son, Leslie Olan Jr. of St. Francis, Ks. 19 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday June 10, 1983 in the United Methodist Church, Palisade, with the Rev. Connie J. Guehler officiating. Burial was in the Palisade Cemetery under the direction of the Carpenter Funeral Home.
