They departed from Hamburg 17 Mar 1875 on the ship Westphalia to New York. From there they probably took a train to Chicago and then settled in Davenport.
Catherine was at the home of her son James L. Cinadr at 2837 Washington Boulevard, Chicago for Thanksgiving. She had been ill for the past six months and died there.
Four sons survive her: John Cinadr of Detroit, Joseph Cinadr of Denver, James L. Cinadr of Chicago and Frank Cinadr of Davenport. Three daughters: Mrs. Anna (Michael) Kerns and Mrs. Katie (Albert) Tyre both of Davenport, and Mrs. Mary Francis (Anton) Knoll of Dubuque. She had 16 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were her four grandsons: George, Harold, Joseph and John Cinadr and two sons-in-law A.N. Tyre and M.J. Kerns.
Funeral services were held at her home at 1220 Mississippi Avenue, Davenport, then to Sacred Heart Cathedral. Interment was at St. Marguerite's (now Mount Calvary).
