Mrs. Emmie Lohse, of Rowena, Runnels county, died in the hospital at Ballinger, Tuesday, June 26, after an illness of three weeks. The remains were shipped to Rockdale, arriving Wednesday afternoon, and were taken to the home of C.B. Brockenbush, and from there to the Bushdale cemetery where interment was had by the side of her husband and little daughter who had preceeded her in death. L.O. Byerly, pastor of the Christian church, was the officiating minister, and spoke comforting words to the bereaved relatives and friends present. Mrs. Lohse was the daughter of the late August Seelke and wife, and was born Sept. 3, 1885, in Lee county. She was married to Enoch Lohse in 1902, Mr. Lohse passing to his reward about two years ago, since which time she had made her home with relatives at Rowena. She leaves nine children, seven boys and two girls. Other surviving relatives are one brother, Will Seelke, four step-brothers and six step-sisters.
