PRESTON, Idaho - Thomas O'Dell Carver, 84, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away on Saturday, June 11, 2005, at the Logan Regional Hospital in Logan, Utah. He was born on December 5, 1920, in Smithfield, Utah, the son of George and Sarah Barnes Carver. He married Harriett Ruby Holden on Sept. 26, 1940, in the Logan Temple. Harriett, who was his loving wife for forty-three years, preceded him in death on Feb. 3, 1985.

Thomas was employed by Monsanto Chemical Co. in Soda Springs, Idaho, from 1953, until retiring in 1983, as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he held the office of high priest at the time of his death. He married Norma Parker Burton on Feb. 27, 1987. They moved in 1988 from Grace, Idaho, to Preston, where they were living at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Norma of Preston; two sisters, Clara Christensen of Grace, Idaho; and Lavona Smith of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; two daughters, LaRue (Alan) Turner of Logan, Utah; and Laura (Ronald) Hansen of Grace, Idaho; two sons, Blaine (Leota) Carver and Nathan (Radean) Carver both of Grace, Idaho; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, five step-children, twenty-two step grandchildren, and twenty-eight step great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and by one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at noon in the Preston Third Ward Chapel, 155 N. 2nd W., Preston, with Bishop David Noyes conducting.

Interment will be in the Grace Cemetery.
