Benjamin Fowle was born in 1772 in Cranbrook, Kent, England, and died 13 Aug 1860, in Bradford, Rock, Wisconsin. As a young man he immigrated to America where he met Martha Lea, also a native of England. They were married in New York State, where their six children were born. Martha died eight days after the birth of their youngest child. After Martha's passing, the family members gradually moved into the territories of Michigan, Wisconsin and Minnesota. His age at the time he passed away according to his headstone was 88 years, 2 months and 13 days.
Benjamin had seven (7) children, not six as previously believed. His first child was Jacob Fowle, born abt 1800, died before 1831, in New York. This Jacob Fowle was also the father of Jacob Fowle husband of Lovina Bump. In Emerald Grove Cemetery Benjamin is surrounded by his brother, sister, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
