Graffie Thomas Simpson, of Greenville, SC, husband of the late Lillian Royster Simpson, died September 25, 2013, in Charleston.

Born February 16, 1913, in Eastonollee, Georgia, he was the son of the late John D. and Emma Simpson.

Tom worked in construction during World War II, building Army bases in three states (Virginia, South Carolina and Georgia).

He was a machinist for over 50 years with J. P. Stevens (Dunean Plant) in Greenville, Lockheed in Marietta, Georgia and Fouke Fur Company in Greenville.

In his retirement years, he was associated with Bi Lo for over 10 years. He was a member of Taylors First Baptist Church and a member of the Co-ed 31 Sunday School Class. He also was a member of Judson Masonic Lodge 319. Tom loved the Lord, his family and his church.

Surviving are his son, Thomas Dennis Simpson of Summerville; daughter, Linda Simpson Brewton of Charleston; two granddaughters, Ginger Brewton of Charleston and Kristie Buxton and husband John, of Myrtle Beach; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held, September 28, 2013 at 2:00pm at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Greenville, SC, officiated by Dr. Jimmie Harley. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
