Obituary, Saathoff--
Berendt Cardel Saathoff, son of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. B. Saathoff, was born May 16, 1905 at a farm near Macon, Nebr., and departed this life Thursday Aug. 16, 1956 near his home at Edgar, at the age of 51 years and 2 months.

He was associated with the Jehovah's Witnesses.

On June 11, 1934 he was united in marriage to Gladys Caroline Alward at Smith Center, Kan. to this union four children were born.

His wife preceded him in death April 27, 1944. leaving him with 4 small children to whom he devoted his kind and loving care.

In 1911 he moved with his parents to a farm near Glenvil where most of his life was spent. He moved to a farm west of Edgar in 1942 where he lived until his untimely death.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the McGhie Funeral home (sic) with Rev. John McLaughlin of Lincoln officiating. Pallbearers were Clyde Anderson, Everett Price, Max Nall, Cecil Black, Willard Sorensen and Duane Bates.

Ladies in charge of the flowers were Mrs. Gladys Mills, Mrs. Opha Mills, Mrs. Ida Johnson and Mrs Nora Andersen.

Burial was in the Glenvil cemetery (sic).
