169th NYSV.
Killed at the Battle of Chester Station, Va.
Aged 22 years.
Son of J & E Taylor.
No unit is listed, but I believe he was most likely a memeber of the 169th NYSV. The 169th was at Chester Station, They organised in the Troy area close to Berlin and the CW Soldiers & Sailors system does list a Jacob W. or Jacob A. as being in the 169th.
The following info seems to verify this:
Documents of the Senate of the State of New York, One Hundred and Twenty Ninth Session, Vol. V, No. 8 (Part 2): Annual Report of the Adjutant-General of the State of New York for the Year 1905, Brandow Printing Co., State Legislative Printer, Albany, 1906.
TAYLOR, JACOB W. – Age, 22 years. Enlisted, March 5, 1864, at Berlin, to serve three years; mustered in as private, Co. E, April 1, 1864; killed in action, May 10, 1864, at Chester Station, Va.
