Sylvia Baker, daughter of George W. and Eliza Anderson was born on a farm near Hubbell, Neb., Jan. 20, 1885 and died Sept. 17, 1967 at the Lynch Clinic, Fairbury, at the age of 82.

The early years of her life were spent around Hubbell until the family moved in 1892. She attended the Maple Grove school and was a graduate of Hubbell high school in 1903. She taught at Island and Midway schools.

February 25, 1906 she was united in marriage to Charles W. Dovel. They moved onto a farm until 1948 when they retired into Narka. To this union was born one son Lynn. She was united in marriage to Roy E. Baker, June 15, 1966.

Preceding her in death were two half-sisters, Emma Johnson and Mary Wolfe; one half-brother James Eakins and her first husband Charles W. Dovel.

Survivors include her husband Roy; son, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Dovel; step-children, Mrs. Earl Janasek and Keith Baker; nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the Narka Presbyterian church with interment following in Maple Grove cemetery. Rev. Fred Mansfield and Rev. Amos Rundus officiated.
