He was born March 16, 1912, in Philadelphia and lived in Sarasota for 18 years before moving to Loveland in 1998. He retired in 1977 from SmithKline and French of Philadelphia and then worked part-time at various pharmacies in Sarasota and Bradenton.
He was the first volunteer pharmacist at the Shriners Hospital for Children in Tampa. He graduated in 1977 from the Philadelphia College of Pharmacy. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Sahib Shrine Center.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Louise (Frazer); a daughter, Cynthia Tartaglia of Loveland; four grandchildren; and four great-grandsons.
A memorial service and inurnment was at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loveland, where Resthaven Memory Gardens is in charge.
