Issac Chadwell Franklin Sr. son of John Marion Franklin, and Louetta Johnson Franklin. Issac was a business man, and always had a green thumb like a farmer, growing his own vegetables in his garden. He was married to Quixey Tyline Campbell in 1924, and had five children together, Issac Chadwell, Jr., Sarah Louella, Fredric, Marilyn, and Joseph Marion Franklin. Fredric being still born at birth, their middle son died at birth.

Years after his children were grown he and Ms. Quixey divorced, but remained close until his death in 1971.

He enjoyed being in the restaurant business. Was a wonderful cook and business man. Moved to Jackson Mississippi, and began a new restaurant business, calling it "Pasquale's". He owned and operated it until his death. He loved people, was a heck of a public relations fella, and everyone he met became a friend. He knew no stranger's.

He was a short stout man, always wearing a hat, to cover his slightly balding head. Where once a full head of red hair once laid. Smart with money, and loved a long big car to drive. And a wee little bit of vodka and orange juice when he could get away with it.

Most his friends called him I.C. if they were close to him. He is never forgotten, and left behind some good children that grew up to be fine adults. And their children to be as well.

Until his death, every Sunday, he phoned my Grandma. The night before his death he phoned her from his hospital bed, in Jackson MS. The following morning he passed away. Even though apart their love remained for each other. Quixey never remarried her life.

The rumor was Grandpa did remarry so it was said, to a woman by the name of Geneva, after his passing. But no marriage certificate could be produced after his death. And when his children went into the lawyer's office in Mississippi w/their Mother Quixey Tyline, the lawyer had no idea Grandpa had children from a previous marriage. Truthfully my Grandpa, had a roving eye, lol. Lord knows Grandma (Quixey) loved him, but she had enough.

I was proud of him, respected him in many ways. He was a doer, a dreamer. Worked hard for what he had. And still loved my Grandma Quixey to the point he left her the insurance policy. Now maybe that's to much info, but it's life, and we live it as each day comes.

And yes he did have a redheaded grand-child, me, his grand-daughter from his oldest daughter Sarah. And he spoiled me rotten, wonder why, smiles.

Miss you Grandpa.
