JOHN KLINGMAN, 83, SUCCUMBS AT ELYSBURG HOME
"Well Known Retired Farmer Passes on After Illness of But Ten Days"
John Klingman, eighty-three years of age, retired Elysburg farmer died at 12:30 yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Frank Adams, at Elysburg. Death was due to a complication of ailments and followed an illness of ten days.
He was born in Union County, the son of the late Joseph and Catherine Kurtz Klingman and came to this county in 1884, engaging in farming on the Shamokin Hills. Twenty-seven years ago he moved to Elysburg.
Surviving are the following children, L. M. Klingman, Sunbury; John Klingman, Sunbury; Mrs. Ambrose Pensyl, Shamokin Hills; Charles, of Elysburg; W. A. Klingman, Sunbury, Mrs. Frank Adams, Elysburg. Fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren and the following brothers and sisters also survive:
Mrs. Mary Grove, Mifflinburg; Mrs. Sarah Thatcher, Milroy; Mrs. B. C. Kleckner, Vicksburg; George Klingman, Sterling, Kansas, and Luther Klingman, Buffalo Cross Roads, Union County.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 10 o'clock from the late home with further services at the Vought Lutheran Church, Rev. Charles Lambert, officiating. Burial will be made in the adjoining cemetery.
