Josina Kikkert (= Frog) was born on the first day of 1887 in Thornton Township, located immediately south of the city of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, and which township has the Dutch truck farmers settlement of South Holland as governemental seat. Her parents were Peter Kikkert, 22 years old, born on the island of Texel, Netherlands, and Sophia Swets Van Til, 24, born in South Holland, Cook County, Illinois.

On April 14, 1909 Josie Kikkert married Henry Van Til, in Crown Point, the seat of Lake County, in the extreme northwestern part of Indiana.

In May 1910 Josie (23 y, born in Illinois, mother of 1 living child), her husband Henry Van Till (25, Holland, immigrated in 1905, farm laborer), and their son Edwin (0, Indiana) were living in their own house at Ridge Road in the by Dutch founded town of Munster in North Township, Lake County, Indiana.

On 16 April 1912 her husband Henry van Til was naturalized in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana. He resided then still in Munster, Lake County, Indiana.

In September 1918 her husband Henry Van Til (33 y, farmer) was residing in Highland, Bose 14, Lake County, Indiana, when he was administrated on a World War I Draft Registration Card.

In February 1920 Josie (33), her husband Henry Van Til (35, immigrated in 1905, farmer), their children Edwin (10), Peter (8, Indiana) and Klazina (6 months, Indiana) were living on a farm in Highland, Kennedy Avenue, North Township, Lake County, Indiana.

In April 1930 Josie (43), her husband Henry Van Til (45, banker), their children Edwin (20), Peter (18), Klazina (10), Viole (6, Indiana), Dena (3, Indiana), Raymond (0, Indiana) and niece Trena Van Til (15, also born in Indiana) were living in their own house, worth $7,500, at Ridge Road in Highland, Lake County, Highland.

Her husband Henry Van Til died in July 1951 at the age of 66 years. Widow Josina died in July 1955 at the age of 68 years in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana.
