Alex Buck was the son of Bella Wesley, who died when he was 4 years old. His grandparents, Daniel and Jennie "Hopiey" Wesley raised him until his grandmother Jennie died. He was then taken in by Albert and Abbie (Wesley) Coachman. He only attended the 1st grade at Central School in Wetumka, having to quit school due to his eye sight and inability to speak English. He began helping Albert Coachman, doing farm work and also helping other farmers in the Area. As a child, he attended Wetumka Indian Baptist Church with his Aunt, Abbie Coachman and grandfather, Daniel Wesley. He came to know the Lord at the age of 10 and was baptized in May, 1941. He became a Deacon's helper and became an ordained Deacon at the age of 19. He served in that position for 15 years. On Aug. 30, 1970 he was ordained to the ministry, serving this position for 43 years. He loved to preach the gospel and was always ready to preach when called upon. He continued to preach until his health failed him. He became sick around Father's Day and never really was able to go back to the church. His final words spoken to his sister, Lucinda, was "I'm going home". He spoke these words three times earlier in the evening. He died peacefully.
