12/4/1827: ST. MARY'S COUNTY COURT (Land Records) JH 8, 1827-1830 MSA CE 121-2 (page 41 - 43 ). (My Abstract). Indenture made 12/4/1827 William Williams, Esq. late sheriff on one part & Enoch B. Abell on the other part. Whereas on 7/2/1827 a writ was issued to said sheriff relating to the county court's term March 1827 when Enoch J. Millard, Adm. of Elizabeth Barnhouse by judgement of court recovered against Benjamin Greenwell , late of St. Mary's Co., yeoman, $226.95 and $600 for damages and $6.92 for costs. The Sheriff seized 120 acres of Greenwell's land "Leake's Purchase" to sell at public auction but there were no bidders and afterwards on 8/20/1827court issued another writ and land was again seized and on 11/27/1827 land , "Leake's Purchase", was sold to Enoch B. Abell at public auction for $100. Abell has paid money and is desirous of a deed, which was issued.

Abell the purchases of the real estate of the deceased that was sold on the execution issued out of St. Marys by the sheriff for which debt E.J. Millard adm of Elizabeth Barnhouse also late of Said Count recovered against Bendet Greenwell of said county upon a single bill he had given to the said Elizabeth Barnhouse in her lifetime for the sale by her as attorney of the heirs of the said George Barnhouse for amount of $100. Disbursements to wit Officers paid on suit against Bennet Greenwell 19.34, Register of wills fees 7.05, 10% commission allowed by court Jun 11 1833 of 10, balance due and distributable $63.60 On Jun 11 1833 E. J. Millard. Balance and Distribution of the estate of George Barnhouse late of St. Mary's Co deceased on June 11 1833 to Elizabeth Barnhouse, the widow of the deceased her heirs for 1/3 part thereof as heretofore agreed upon by all the heirs interested in Geo. Barnhouse's real estate with the widows say is $21.20. John R. May in right of his wife Elizabeth Barnhouse a daughter of the deceased widow 1/2 of her mother's part 10.60, to William J. Bunting in right of his wife Ann Delia a deceased [daughter] of the her mother's part is $10.60. To Joseph Barnhouse a son of the deceased George 1/3 part 14.13, To John R. May in right of his wife Elizabeth a daughter of the deceased George Barnhouse 1/3 part of 2/3s part is 14.13, to William J.
