Herman was married to Wilhelmina Katharina Margaretha (Minnie) Barnhardt on Oct. 22,1909. They had one son: John(Pete)F. Schultz. Minnie died of Diphtheria. Herman later married Anna Heuermann on Oct. 8, 1913, and they had four children; Emil, Clarence, Herbert, and Julius.

For Herman Schultz

Herman Schultz, prominent farmer living west of Pomeroy, died unexpectedly
about 2 o'clock Saturday morning, Nov. 26, 1960. Although Mr. Schultz
had not been in the best of health for the past year or two, his death
came suddenly after suffering a heart attack on Thanksgiving Day.
He had reached the age of 77 years, 8 months and 14 days.

Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 27, art 1:30 p. m. In the home
and at 2 o'clock In St. John American Lutheran church, with Pastor E. R.
Schlachtenhaufen in charge. A quartet composed of Mrs. John Marten,
Mrs. George Bangert, Don Bangert, and Herman Gerdes sang "Asleep in
Jesus" and "Abide With Me" during the church services.

Casket bearers were Charley Holtapp, Wm. C. Holtapp, Fred Gehrt,
Ed Seehusen, Robert Schultz and Carson C. Holtorf. Burial was in
Union cemetery at Pomeroy.

Herman Karl Schultz, son of Frederick and Fredericks Schultz, was
born December 11, 1872, at Bloomington, Ill., and was baptized
December 29. He was confirmed Feb. 14, 1886,
at Bloomington by Pastor Sapper.

In1893 he came with his parents to Iowa and settled on a farm northwest
of Pomeroy. On October 22, 1902, Mr. Schultz was united in marriage to
Wllhelmina Barnhardt. This union was blessed with one son, John F. Schultz.
Mrs. Schultz passed away in September, 1910. On October 8, 1913, he was
united in marriage to Anna Heuermann, and to them were born four
sons. The oldest, Emil, died in infancy.

Mr. Schultz is survived by his loving wife Anna; four sons, John F.
and Herbert of Pomeroy, Clarence of Newell, and Julius of Dexter, Minn.;
four daughters-in-law; four grandsons; one granddaughter; a brother,
John M. Schultz of Pomeroy; three sisters, Mrs. Chas. Gehrt, Mrs. Aug.
Holtorf and Mrs. George Seehusen of Pomeroy; other relatives and a host
of friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son; three brothers,
Fred, Martin and William Schultz; and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Holtapp
and Mrs. Chas. Holtapp.
