Rosie, 3, was last seen on June 30, 1994 when she went to buy an ice lollipop from a van near her home in Hartlepool, Cleveland, England. Three days later her partially clothed remains were found wrapped in a trashbin liner in an airing cupboard in the home of Shaun Armstong, who was charged with her murder. Armstrong kidnapped Rosie just minutes after she bought the lollipop, took her to his flat fifty yards away, molested her, and beat her to death. She was dead within an hour of her abduction. Shortly after Rosie died, Armstrong went to a shop to buy cider with her blood still on his clothes. He was sentenced to life in prison for her murder.
