According to research done by Colonel William Whitesel, George Whitesel "is buried in the churchyard of Whitesel's Church."

4. JACOB Harvey Whitesel born February 22, 1832; died May 1864 at Battle of Haw's Shop. He may be buried somewhere in the vicinity of Hanover Courthouse with others who were killed in that skirmish. Married Catherine Sandy Whitesel
