9/3/1940, Harrisonburg Daily News Record:

"Mrs. Charlotte Roudabush Moore of Shenandoah announces the marriage of her daughter, Helen Virginia, to Roy Eldridge Berry, son of Mrs. Elizabeth [Lizzie Hundley Berry]and the late Juebel Berry [Juble Eldridge Berry], of Rineyville, Ky., at 8 o'clock on Saturday evening, August 31.

The marriage ceremony was performed in the home of the bride by her pastor, the Rev. J. Eugene White, of the Field's Methodist Episcopal Church. Decorations of white gladioli and cathedral candles formed an appropriate setting for the ceremony. The wedding march was played by the bride's aunt, Mrs. E.W. Mills.

The bride wore a gown of white sheet and lace and gardenias in her hair. She carried an arm bouquet of white snapdragons.

Only relatives of the bride and friends of the groom witnessed the ceremony. Out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. William Taber of Rineyville, Ky., and Mrs. Tommy Higgs of Toano, Va.

Following the ceremony, Mrs. H.E. Roudabush, aunt of the bride, acted as hostess at a small reception. The bridle couple left Sunday morning for their new home in Kentucky.

Mrs. Berry is a graduate of the Shenandoah High School and was employed at the Shenandoah Knitting Mills. The bridegroom attended the Culver Military Academy and now has a position with the government at Fort Knox, Ky."
