Cora B. Reece, 89, of Penola, died Sunday, June 10, 2001 at Memorial Regional Medical Center in Hanover County. Born in Ruther Glen, Mrs. Reece was the owner and operator of Trailway Inn in Penola since 1938. She was the widow of Welford Arlen Reece. Survivors include a son, Welford A. Reece Jr. of Ruther Glen; a grandson, Welford A. Reece III of King William; three sisters, Laura Armstrong, Gussie Taylor and Frances Lamont, all of Richmond; and three great-granddaughters. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2001, in the chapel of Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Burial will follow in Mt. Hermon Baptist Church Cemetery, Shumansville. The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Frog Level Volunteer Rescue Squad, 29415 Richmond Turnpike, Ruther Glen, Va. 22546.
